WMO statement on the state of the global climate in 2017
The global mean temperature in 2017 was approximately 1.1°C above the pre- industrial era, more than half way towards the maximum limit of temperature increase of 2 °C sought through the Paris Agreement, which further strives to limit the increase to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels.
