Fears Wagga Wagga levee bank will fail as flood peak nears


About 9,000 people have been evacuated from Wagga Wagga with fears the town's CBD will suffer major flooding if the city's flood levee breaks its banks tonight.

The Murrumbidgee River is due to peak at 10.90 metres - its highest peak since 1853 - at 9pm.
