LitMod3D

LitMod3D has been developed to perform integrated geophysical-petrological LIThospheric MODelling in a 3D geometry. It's a powerful tool that combines in a self-consistent manner concepts and data from thermodynamics, mineral physics, geochemistry, petrology, and solid-Earth geophysics.

 

In the current version of LitMod3D, only the first 410 km (i.e. down to the top of the transition zone) can be modelled. Future versions will be able to model also the transition zone and perhaps the whole mantle.
